Getting weight.

People usually lose weight when they don't feel well, though about my family it's not true.

I haven't felt well for a while and I think I got around 2 kg meanwhile. I notice I'm going to catch a cold when I suddenly have a big appetite.

I have two brothers and they are the same as me. When they had Mycoplasma pneumonia at the once, they got about 10 kg for a month. My mother told me that she really worried about food cost at that time because they wanted to eat a lot of meat every day.

Anyway I need to lose weight. It's getting warm every week. I can't wear summer clothes on this body!!

I've caught a cold.

I’m tired and I've had difficulty to think, breathe, and talk. I hate this. I hope I’ll get well soon.

builds up vocabularies

I don’t like studying vocabularies because I can’t remember only words without any contents. After knowing essential words, it would be easy to learn how to use them. Just read books and use them occasionally. Then, how to learn essential words of unknown language on the first place?

When I decided to study German, I wondered how I master essential words. I tried to remind how I started to learn English, I remember only I went to GEOS, that’s all. Not useful information. Easy readers and comics in German were tough for me. The school wasn’t the one of the kind I expected. So I was totally lost. I still continue to read and listen “German Steps” on BBC and recently started the site “Livemocha” which Michiru-san let me know before. I think Livemocha is pretty fun, but I’m not in the mood for paying it yet.

I have a few textbook in Japanese but all of them are pretty square and boring. I need fun for keep reading. I really want to be happy while reading. If not, I can’t do it.

WANTED: I’m looking for easy but not boring German books.

booms in Japan

After I went to Korean school, I dropped by my favorite store as usual, and found one kind of stuffs were all sold out.

They were cinnamon.
No cinnamon stick, no cinnamon sugar, no cinnamon powder, nothing.

At once I knew that there must have had a TV program about cinnamon. People who watched it buy them at once and the shortage of them lasts several weeks or days. It sometimes happens. I think a lot of Japanese people really like something healthy or good for losing weight and they are affected a lot by media. they don't seem to care to spent tons of money for supplements or healthy diet. Some of them are occasionally doubtful about the information and expect little. They are not disappointed the result and don't complain it because they have already started new things.

To tell you a truth, I'm one of those people. I was really curious what cinnamon was for at the store, checked if another store was the same situation, and looked for the information on the net in home.

I tried several dieting but never succeeded except one. When I think about them now, I wonder why I wanted to try some of them. The only one which I could lose weight by was a step machine. Yes. I know I just need to work out but I can't, I hate exercise!!

I've heard this.
The happiest people are who always go on a diet but never succeeded, because they can keep dreaming.

That's me.

I think I can read this.

I applied German class using the extra points from the Korean class which I quit last month, but the German class didn't suit me. I felt it was like a kind of torture during the whole time of the class, so I quit it after the second time. I want to enjoy learning languages and I already know it's possible and very effective. Now I'm looking for a new school.

I learned English through reading books and watching DVDs after I came back to Japan. I really appreciate SSS, which is a new method of extensive reading. If you want to know more, visit the site.; SSS- English information ; SSS.

I bought several books and comics in German, and I'm reading them. No. Actually I don't understand most of them. I just read letters. BUT I found this book! I think I can read this. It's really amazing because I know only a few words in German. Hahaha. I'm going to read this tomorrow and let Michiru-san know it. I'm pretty sure she loves this series.

Hello !

Nice to meet you.
I'm Himawari which means sunflower in Japanese. Please call me "Hima". Himawari is my nickname on the net. I choose this name because my mom plants 3 himawari(sunflowers) every year and calls them my and my brother's names.

I've had several blogs in Japanese since 2004, and this is the first blog in English and Korean. I feel a little bit nervous.

When I was a student, I really hated English lessons and never imagened I would be able to use English. I visited my ex-coworker who homestayed in England in the summer of 1998 and it must be the tarning point I got interested in languages. I spent whole week with her host-parents and they must have had tough time because I couldn't understand English at all. I hadn't had care that I didn't understand English until that but I felt sorry for them because I couldn't express my appreciate in words. I started to go to language school a half year later and I went to stay in Canada for nine months in 2001. I had a really great time there. I got a lot of good friend who came from all over the world. Time flies. Unfortunately I have only few friends I keep in touch with. Most of them are Korean and they can speak Japanese, so I always wanted to study Korean but there weren't any schools in my hometown and I don't have any power to study all by myself. Last year I moved to a pretty big city and I started to go to school for learning Korean. I'm wondering I "learn" Korean...I think more just enjoy it?

My hobby is reading books, watching dramas, and internet.
I know my language skill is not good but I found I like meeting people even though all of my hobbies are something I do alone in my home. So...I'm going to add "learning languages" or "communication in several languages" to the list of my hobbies.

I hope I keep writing this blog. I have to look for topics.
